Dear Apple...

You know what sucks? Having a phone that won't keep time. Spending several hundred dollars on a piece of technology that won't perform the basic function that a $20 Timex will is annoying as hell.

You know what's worse? Finding out that this has been a problem for very near three years

Look, I get it. Not all technology is perfect. But, damn. This has been a known problem for close to three years. I got the phone less than a year ago, so the problem was known for two years when I got it. And yet no one has been able to fix it? That's not the way to keep market share, folks...

Looks like there will be a trip to the Verizon store this weekend. Boy, I just love technology...

That is all.

Do some of Apple's problems come after the death of their supreme leader? I think so.

If you read that posts in the link, it seems the problem is on VZN's end (unsuprising, one of the most customer hostile companies around). I sampled a few pages of the thread and the consensus seems to be its VZN (see pages 12, 14, 18 where people say they spoke to VZN's level 2 support).

Yeah, as much as I would love to bag on Apple, it looks like a Verizon issue. If I were you, I would also visit the Verizon store but only to throw their phones at them and then drive over to a competitor. Thankfully, I left Verizon three years ago and I haven't looked back. (I left the Death Star for Verizon but only because no one else had decent service in the tiny southern AZ town where I was at the time.)

It may be technically something with Verizon that's causing the problem, but it's not a problem I've ever had with any of my Android based phones that I've had through Verizon. Which kicks it back to Apple's court IMO. Currently have the Kyocera Brigadier and enjoying it! Dropped it on concrete several times already and its not showing any wear and tear.

Never a problem on any of our AT&T based iPhones So........ Verizon problem not Apple.

Heads at Verizon would rolling if big Steve were still here.

It's likely a combination.

The AT&T and Verizon phones aren't the same phone, so saying it's A-OK on AT&T doesn't mean much.

It's most likely an Apple problem, though, because other OS's aren't having the issue. Something went wrong when implementing the CDMA phone that didn't on the GSM.

AT&T works fine. It's something to do with VZEs ability to 'push' time corrections. All phones should do time syncs on a regular basis.

Nope, my Android Verizon phone works fine.

SO back to Apple....

I can't speak for anyone else but here's the thing. It doesn't matter who's problem it is, I am done buying Apple products. Here's why.

They're products are way over priced and their software sucks so bad it causes thunderstorms. But mostly it's because they made such a big hoopla about not doing business with the state of Indiana because the Indiana legislature tried to pass a religious freedom law - a law a lot of other states already had on the books - all while never having a problem doing business with middle eastern satraps who have no problem murdering gays. Hypocrisy on that level does not get business from me.
