Catching Up...

So, Kilted to Kick Cancer posted an update in the fundraising challenge. Team Jay G. is in third place now thanks to everyone that has donated - thank you. That means the Brownells Lower Parts Kit is now officially part of the prize package. What stood out, for me, was that Team JayG has the second-highest number of donations, second only to my blogson. I like that.

So, as we near the halfway point, it's time to pick up more steam. I'm still gunning for first place, which means I have a good amount of ground to cover. In that vein, I'm tossing up another kilted pic today. Since it's the weekend, I hope to generate more pics. And, like I've said before, I'm open for donation suggestions - if there's a pose you want, let me know. For the right price (and I am shockingly cheap), you can own a little piece of my dignity!

Today's kilted pic:

It's a kilted dude hanging out at Home Depot. Nothing to see here. One of the most amazing things about KTKC and forcing one's self out of one's comfort zone to get out and be kilted is how few people notice. Sure, a few cast wary sideways glances, others are supportive, but the vast majority are just clue-free. There are always a few curious sorts, and those are the ones that I like the best, because that's where awareness comes in.

And, with an update: If you donate to KTKC on behalf of Team JayG, you get a shot at winning a York Arms lower and a parts kit with which to finish it. Everyone that donates gets a chance to win it. Every $5 is one chance (i.e. if you donate $25 you get 5 chances). As I've done in years past, I'll assign everyone numbers based on their chances and run a random number generator to determine a winner. Everyone who donates and e-mails me gets a shot.

To donate:
  • Click an amount, or add in a custom amount, then check the box next to "This donation is made as part of a Fundraising Team".
  • You'll see "Fundraising Team:" and a drop-down box. Pull up "Team JayG".
It's just that simple!

Third place now, second place ???

That is all.

I linked team Borepatch this year due to his Dad losing that particular battle and this, his first time, but I think the world of all of you for doing this. It's not the team, it's the cause and you guys ROCK!

Brigid, I understand completely.

Besides, the competition's good for everyone - we've all got to bring our "A" game.

I don't like the view from back here, so I'm working to change that. :)

You ought to see the looks I get kilted along the docks. When I get asked about my "Irish man skirt", I get big thumbs up when I explain.

Coeds on campus show QUITE an interest in it.

And yes, I really will whore my body for a PSA to bring funds to the cause. It's all I have to offer. Keep up the good work brother.
