Here's A Good One...

Brought up in Facebook last night was this old '80s hit:

This is one of those songs that is just ripe for bad lyrics. "Rat poison in wine." "Fat women in line." Between Klaus Meine's fractured English, German accent, and rapid-fire singing, it's no wonder this one is frequently misquoted.

So, what's your favorite misquote, either from the Scorps or elsewhere?

That is all.

Hard to pick a favorite but these are high on my list:

Bad Moon Rising: "There's a bathroom on the right."

Every Breath You Take: "How my pool hall aches.."

Lady Marmalade: "Oolay pookoo say ollie ma, say sa." (French on an AM radio goes downhill really fast.)

O Fortuna: "Salsa cookies, windmill cookies, they give you gonorrhea."

I still swear that there's a line in Manfred Mann's cover of Springsteen's "Blinded By The Light" that goes:

"And little early birdie/ Gave my anus curly-whirly/ And asked me if she needed a riiiiide..."

Drives me nuts every time I hear the song.

And thanks to the questionable humor of a guy I served with in the Army, every time I hear AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" I hear an annoying mental echo of "Dirty Deeds Done With Sheep."

:P

Wes: I used to hear part of the chorus as "Dirty deeds at Redondo Beach."

But that WAS from my Sailor Days, so...

I never knew why Jimi Hendrix wanted to " kiss this guy"...

I was incredulous when my wife started singing along to the chorus of "the heart of rock & roll is in Cleaveland".

Damn. You mean the heart of rock and roll isn't in Cleaveland? I would of sworn it was there till I just looked up the lyrics. 64 years old and fillaly learned something worthwhile.
