Good News/Bad News

Stretch sends in some bad news.

Obama aunt who stayed in US illegally dies at 61
President Barack Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango, who was denied asylum in the United States but stayed illegally for years, died Tuesday at age 61.

Onyango, whose immigration status was reported by The Associated Press days before Obama's election in 2008, had been treated in recent months for cancer and respiratory problems, Cleveland attorney Margaret Wong said. She died in a Boston rehabilitation center, said Wong, who represented her in her immigration case.
Again, I can't help but wonder how the media coverage would have played out if George W. Bush had a relative that was constantly in legal trouble. Oh, wait, we distinctly remember the glee with which the media reported on his daughters' escapades. So we *do* know how the media would have handled it. Imagine if one of the girls had gotten arrested, and then magically all charges were dropped. Think the media would have let it be at that?

However, regardless of how you might feel about President Obama and/or his aunt, it's sad that she has passed on. Cancer's a stone-cold bitch, and I want to kick it square in the jimmies, regardless of who it strikes. She is no longer suffering, though, and died peacefully in her sleep.

The good news is that she'll continue to vote for the foreseeable future...

That is all.

Don't forget Uncle Omar is still here driving drunk, but that's OK because he was here illegally too (until a judge decided Omar's crimes where just an act of love a la Jeb Bush).
