If You Like Your Job...

You're SOL if it's a part time gig...

CBO nearly triples estimate of working hours lost by 2021 due to Affordable Care Act
A historically high number of people will be locked out of the workforce by 2021, according to a report by the Congressional Budget Office released Tuesday.

President Barack Obama's signature health-care law will contribute to this phenomenon, the CBO said, citing new estimates that the Affordable Care Act will cause a larger-than-expected reduction in working hours—eliminating the equivalent of about 2.3 million workers in 2021.
Weren't they just telling us that no jobs had been lost because of ObamaCare?

You know what's really pathetic, though? It's this spin. Yeah. People are "choosing to work less," that is actually the spin. People just magically decided that they didn't need as much money any more because of the unicorn magic in ObamaCare, so they voluntarily started working fewer hours.

Only on Planet Teleprompter Jesus Fellator would this fly.

No, you kneepad-adorned cultists, this is not people selflessly deciding they don't want to work as many hours. This is - like we've been saying since it was first brought up - businesses deciding to cut hours so they won't have to meet the requirements for providing health insurance. This is companies dropping workers from 35-39 hours to 28 so they fall below the minimum.

And rather than question the administration's laughable spin that this is people choosing not to work, the MSM response is to simply parrot the line again and then blame the GOP. Rather than investigate any of the claims from those that oppose ObamaCare, they bleat louder. Four legs good, two legs bad.

Right up until the administration tells them that two legs is better...

That is all.

Walk on two legs not on four
To walk on four legs breaks the law
What happens when we break the law?
What happens when the rules aren't there?
We all know where we go from there.
To the house of paiiiiiiiiiiin.

I'll have that Oingo Boingo song stuck in my head all day.

Thanks, Jay.

I'll git you for that. And yer little damn dog, too.

The local media has doubled down on this meme by declaring that by working less hours you can make more money because of redued taxes ...... And apparently fuzzy math skills. ........... So you see it really is Bush's fault after all

Funny how $7.25/hr x 40 hour work week equals Obama's new minimum of $10 x 29 hour work week.

I'm sure its just a coincidence.

Under certain circumstances, increasing your gross reduces your aftertax; but that usually involves being in the penultimate tax bracket to start with, or close to the AMT line. At the other end, EITC can (rarely) cause this in conjunction with other welfare, but it's even more narrow at that end (because EITC is designed to not do that).
