Friday Tunes...

Oh yes. It's back to the '80s for this Friday afternoon...

Now, here's the kicker. This song is 33 years old. Yeah. I know. We're old. I was my daughter's age when this came out. So, basically, this would be like me listening to a song from 1948 when I was 10. You know, like the Twelfth Street Rag...

Now that you're feeling old, have a great weekend!

That is all.

Our local talk radio station's afternoon drive time host plays that song every Friday when his shift starts at 5:00. The rest of the week he plays "Five O'Clock World." Now there's a song with legs.

We may be old but we can still be immature.

Someday I am going to write a big long drawn-out post on the cultural pervasiveness of old music as evidenced by the fact that so many people who listen to it were either very young or not even born yet when it came out. Today is not that day, unfortunately…

In the meantime, fair warning: When I get to be Dictator-for-Life, Loverboy is getting thrown off the radio. Their replacement? Triumph, because THAT Canadian band doesn't get played nearly enough anymore.

Joan Jett? Thumbs up. Loverboy not so much.
