Go Along To Get Along...

But it's the GOP that is full of partisans, right? Hot off the BLNN is this lovely story of liberal tolerance and understanding. By which I mean prejudice and hatred, which would certainly be front page news were it a Republican saying the exact same thing about the Democrats...

Obama adviser Podesta under fire for comparing GOP to 'Jonestown'
Long-time Clinton hand John Podesta is in trouble with Republicans just days after joining the Obama White House, after he described the House GOP as a "cult worthy of Jonestown."

The comment apparently was made this past fall, but was first reported Tuesday in Politico. Jonestown is the Guyana cult colony where, in 1978, a member of Congress was killed. Nearly 1,000 people died in what was described as a mass suicide days later.
Well, it was a mass suicide in that the leaders decided that everyone should die, and then poisoned the food and drink so as to accomplish that aim. That's what John Podesta - a lifetime political hack well-versed in politics and dealing with the media - thinks of the GOP. That's the mindset of the people that the GOP is urged to "get along with" and "compromise". They think you're a "cult" rather than simply political opponents, and, deep down, they would like you to kill yourselves. But before you do, make nice and give into their demands.

Bullhockey.

They're going to hate you no matter what you do. No matter how many times you give in; no matter how many concessions you make, they are going to vilify you in the media and think the very worst of you. The GOP was accused of causing the government shutdown over ObamaCare, with their calls to delay the implementation being portrayed as some nefarious end-run around the "will of the people". As soon as the GOP relented, what happened? The whole ObamaCare fiasco came crashing down, and talk resumed about... delaying implementation.

The GOP isn't a cult when it comes to dealing with the Democrats - they're Charlie Brown hoping that Lucy won't pull the football away ... again.

That is all.

He certainly didn't waste time getting the media's attention, did he? (And does anyone else grin when he appears because of what a "podesta" was in Italian history?)

Personally I think this is a more true characterization of the Dems...

Blindly following the BO talking points sounds more like Jonestown to me...
