Oh, It Was Intentional All Right...

Mitt Romney attack best yet on health law
WASHINGTON — By choosing Boston as the place to try to boost support for his flailing health care law, President Obama unwittingly picked a fight with his former presidential opponent, who delivered what could prove to be the GOP’s most effective attack on Obamacare yet.

Mitt Romney has kept a relatively low profile since Obama defeated him a year ago. But yesterday Romney came out swinging on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” accusing Obama of “fundamental dishonesty” for telling Americans they could keep their health insurance under the new law, and pronouncing the president’s second term in grave condition.
There was nothing unwitting about it. He chose Boston specifically because of RomneyCare - hell, he chose the same damn spot Romney used to deliver the news about the Massachusetts health care overhaul. RomneyCare is the big reason that Romney couldn't bash Obama about ACA - and I'm sure that Obama choosing the spot he did was deliberate. Romney couldn't hit Obama on his weakest point - the much-hated ObamaCare - without being reminded that his own socialist health care plan for Massachusetts was the basis.

It only cements my low opinion of the GOP that the best they can do now is take silly swings at Obama as he faces the twilight of his presidential career. Oh, for certain they'll stop once the 2014 mid terms near, because G-d forbid that they actually look like they have a gorram clue when it matters. The vast majority of Americans are waking up to the nightmare that is Obamacare - even the major networks are starting to turn - yet I'm certain that the GOP will lose seats next year.

Why? Because they're the stupid party. I'm watching Ken Cuccinelli get ready to lose the VA governor's race to TERRY F**KING MCAULIFFE - Mr. Global Crossing himself - because Cuccinelli couldn't resist falling for the ZOMG ABORTION trap. He made stupid comments about wanting to ban all abortions (as well as divorce - GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ONE CHIEF), and he's getting beaten by a guy whose only qualification for office is ... wait ... um ... Well, maybe I'll think of something later.

Chris Christie is being touted as a potential 2016 GOP Presidential candidate. YES, BECAUSE EAST COAST RINOS DO SO F**KING WELL. I don't think it's possible for the Democrats to nominate anyone who could lose. I think they could run Jimmy gorram Carter and he'd win in 2016. They could dig up Lyndon Johnson's corpse and it'd beat Christie. They'll probably run Hillary! because they'll want to have the "ZOMG FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT" right after the media anointed Teleprompter Jesus.

Sorry for the downer; I'm just a little pissed off that my new adopted state is being flushed down the socialist shitter like the place I just left...

That is all.

Jay, I'm starting to see a trend here. Have you ever lived in New York?

Wasn't the choice wonderful? My clothes pin and I voted this morning. I have now worn out the clothes pin and need a new one. Dear Republican party, Can I please have a GOOD candidate from you? I will never vote for the Dems but I am Damned tired of holding my nose to vote against them. Do I vote for the turd or the sewer? I have not been able to SUPPORT a candidate in years. Stop taking my vote for granted.

There's a reason I finally told the Stupid Party to go perform an anatomically improbable act on itself, and started voting Libertarian whenever possible.

Republicans: If the only reason for me to vote for your candidate is to vote against the Democrat, then screw you - I'll vote my conscience and find someone I can vote for. You've used up any party loyalty I might have had.

If that means the Democrat wins, then so be it.

Jake,

What do you do when the "libertarian" candidate is being funded by the Democrats, as is the case in Virginia?

Cargosquid,

Apparently, I find out about it afterwards. I first saw that story this morning, but after I had already voted.

It's pretty much irrelevant to me in this case, anyway. Either he's a Democrat plant trying to split the vote in the Dems favour, or they contributed to him hoping for the same result. He doesn't really have much of a chance at winning. My intent, and hope, is just that he'll get enough votes so that the next Libertarian candidate doesn't have to waste time and money fighting just to get on the ballot, or into the debates.

They say that we get the government we deserve. We deserve better. Stop bitchin' about the available choices and work to get better choices. Be proactive instead of reactive. Identify and make known what your ideal candidate will present to voters. Speak up loudly, clearly and often.

Dude. Move to the midwest... Indiana or Wisconsin. Stay away from the left coast and the other left coast.
