Just Seemed Fitting...

With all that's going on at Casa del G. these days, this just needed to be shown...

Been movin' refrigerators and color TVs here. Also boxes. Lots of boxes. Found that 14 years in one place with lots of storage means LOTS of stuff. The "scenes from packing" series should have driven that home - I should get one more up, of something that could only have come about in the late 1990s. The garage is about half-full of packed boxes and items we're donating to various charities, and we've been making nearly daily donations to the curb. Most items don't last more than a day or so, and it has been very interesting to see what moves and what doesn't (TVs. Seriously).

I would advise buying stock in Advil...

That is all.

With the move to digital TV the old ones are not worth much to anyone.

Do it when you're young. We helped our daughter and family move this spring. Oh, man! Ache!

Locally, junk computer monitors and TVs are broken open to harvest the metals in the circuit boards and power supply and the yoke broken off of the main display tube because of the lead. You are left with the remnants of the tube and the smashed plastic shell to sweep up.

The de riguer soundtrack item for your activities is Cardboard Boxes, by Loudon Wainwright III.

Getting divorced after 28 years of marriage, means lots of crap. I want to keep that crap - need to find a big house.

I feel your pain!
