What the hex: OUI suspect charged in wild crash threatened cop with voodoo curse
A Cadillac-driving OUI suspect — charged with running a Boston Globe delivery truck off Interstate 93 and onto the Leverett Connector — was carrying three EBT cards, mocked a cop “for paying for food when she gets it for free” and threatened to put a voodoo curse on him, according to a police report. She responded, of course, by making veiled threats to the officer, calling him a racist, and threatening to put a curse on him. All because he dared to arrest her for drunk driving (at least her second offense) after she caused a wreck that put a man in the hospital. But - according to her - it's okay, because he didn't die (and, we can assume, because he was a white devil) - and she really wanted a cigarette.
“I questioned her as to why she had other peoples (sic) EBT cards and she began screaming that I was a ‘dumb (expletive)’ for paying for food when she gets it for free,” trooper William Kokocinski wrote of Vivencia Bellegarde, 25, of Everett, noting she had her own electronic benefits transfer card and also the cards of two other people.
I won't comment about the fact that she had three EBT cards, only one of which belonged to her, was unemployed, and yet was still driving a Cadillac (heck, I was a graduate student making less than minimum wage when I was driving a Cadillac...) It's the fact that this is her second OUI offense (that we know of), that she has many citations for failing to pay tickets, and yet still has a valid MA license. This is someone that has absolutely no business being on the road, yet she continues to be a legally permitted driver.
You know, maybe we should treat cars like guns - you don't get a second chance to screw up with a gun (legally).
That is all.
