Fire!

So, I think I mentioned that one of the recurring themes at the Sixth Annual Northeast Bloggershoot was the production of fireballs. Wally was kind enough to send a couple shots he got of a couple fireballs from the shoot:

Not sure who this is shooting a Mosin Nagant M44. See why I love this rifle?

Another attendee with Wally's flamethrower, err, 300 BLK.

If you look closely, you'll see that I have both the Snubbie from Hell and Weerdbeard's LCR357 in my hands. Yes, I shot them both. Yes, I shot them both at the same time. The LCR, being a little heavier and having the meatier Hogue Tamer grips, had the edge as far as being easier to shoot. However, all I brought for .357 Magnum were wimpy reloads, so it wasn't the full effect of the 125 grain JSP hunting rounds from Remington...

I caught a cool video of Matt P. with his HK 416:

If you can watch that without giggling, you're a better person than I...

There's plenty more, but most of them involved me shooting Mopar's Contender Encore (thanks Mopar, I always get those two confused!) in .30-06 (sprechen zie ouchie?) or the AK-54 (boy, howdy, that is fun. DO WANT). From the flyweight .357 Magnums to short barreled rifles to full-on machine guns, there were plenty of ways to burn extra powder outside of the barrel.

I don't know about anyone else, but I had a great time...

That is all.

Correction: that was an Encore. I have a Contender too, but that's not really strong enough to do 30-06.

Jay,

Looks like the Mosin M44 shooter is "Too Old" ... you know, our resident, recently retired EMT.

I had a blast, in more ways than one. I don't know that I made too many fireballs though. Certainly with the Snubbie from Hell (thanks for letting me shoot it, by the way) but most everything else I shot had a relatively long barrel.

I'm sorry, but "had a blast" is so cliche. Getting to see folks I'd posted with, and the assortment of boom-sticks was outstanding! It was all I could do not to brag at work the next day, but it's hard to impress the folks I work with. Such a drag. Or maybe I was just so pooped from the drive.
Next time, Dragons Breath!
Oh, and I've GOT to send you pictures! This weekend. I'm very busy resurrecting the Zombie Truck. With more goodies this time.

I watched the 416 video without giggling, but I was so drunk that my eyeballs weren't my own. I'm not sure if that counts.
