Can We Bring Back Public Flogging?

Just for people like this:

Two held for endangering tot
..Cops say a couple babysitting a 2-year-old appeared to be high on drugs and were letting the toddler run in traffic in Cohasset Friday after an alarmed woman confronted them and then called police.

“Thank goodness someone was looking out for this little boy — these two suspects surely were not,” acting Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley said.
I guess I really shouldn't be surprised. There's a lot of stupid people out there. It shouldn't surprise me that there are people out there so self-centered that they can't refrain from shooting up heroin when they're supposed to be caring for a child. I kinda hope that the child's parents didn't know they were drug users, but then again, what would that say about their due diligence in checking out caregivers?

I did find it interesting that they found "high-capacity ammo magazines" in the car, though. I wonder if the magazine were just sitting on the seat, or if the car was thoroughly searched and the magazines were found. There's no other information given; I would imagine that this is a case of running afoul of MA licensing - i.e. the heroin addict doesn't have a license and therefore cannot legally own *any* magazines. I find it hard to believe he has a class A LTC and these were new standard capacity magazines...

In this case, though, I'm glad there was something else to charge them with.

That is all.

Since this is the Stupid State I'm sure the magazine charge will garner more prison time than either the drug or child endangerment charges.

Impossible... if they're illegal... ;-)

Incorrect, Jay. There is NO law restricting ownership of a low-capacity magazine (10 rounds or under) in Massachusetts. It's only those dangerous standard capacity magazines that are so feared that they jail you for owning one... not the gun, mind you, but the magazine.
