DOJ helped facilitate anti-Zimmerman protests in Florida: FOIA docs
The legal watchdog Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained documents revealing the Community Relations Service (CRS), a unit of the Department of Justice, was deployed to Sanford, Fla., following the death of Trayvon Martin to help organize rallies against George Zimmerman.

According to the documents, from March 25 to March 27, CRS spent $674.14 upon being “deployed to Sanford, Fla., to work marches, demonstrations, and rallies related to the shooting and death of an African-American teen by a neighborhood watch captain.”

A FEDERAL agency was in Florida helping to organize marches and demonstration. A Federal agency that falls under the auspices of the Department of Justice. You know, the agency that couldn't be bothered to prosecute the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation in 2008 or even investigate the ATF for Operation Fast & Furious? They have time, money, and agents to spare to support protests against George Zimmerman? They're actively supporting a course of action that by all objective viewpoints means supporting a violent criminal who was shot in the process of committing grievous bodily injury to someone that had not posed any sort of physical threat to him?

And excuse the living hell out of me, but where the bloody hell is the media on this??? (Don't answer, it's rhetorical). That the federal government is devoting one red cent or one second of an employee's time to attempt to sway public opinion of a self-defense case should be a front page story - yet here it is, buried in the WSJ. It's not top-of-the-fold on the NYT or being discussed on the nightly news; it's not even a blip on the radar. Tell me, again, how the media is anything resembling fair. If George Bush had sent part of the Justice Department to agitate for the death penalty in a murder case, there would have been hell to pay.

More importantly, I want to know why the hell the DOJ is trying to influence this story. Are they actively trying to foment a race riot? Are they hoping that they'll get Zimmerman convicted by tainting the jury pool? Is this a back-end approach to repealing "stand your ground" type laws? Quite frankly, I can see absolutely no reason for the Justice Department to be working one side or another in this case. They should be objectively gathering any evidence of federal crimes and nothing else.

The more I hear about this, the more I think that there is a LOT more going on behind the scenes...

That is all.

Wouldn't you love to see JW get hold of ALL documents pertaining to this?

My my my, wonder how many familiar names would show up?

Of course, Tingles Matthews & Co., and Bloody-Hands Cummings & Co. would announce it's all a plot against our black AG and Pres. to bring this up, and most of the major media would agree.

And remember....

These people will still be in these positions, no matter who is President. Remember the uproar when Bush replaced some of the US Attorneys because they were refusing to follow new policy?

I don't think the Founders foresaw the fourth branch of government--the permanent bureaucracy--as ever being possible.

And, as an update, the prosecution just added manslaughter and child abuse (WTFF?) charges.

After the defense rested.

Allegedly this is legal in Florida.

This is the kind of thing we expected in Soviet Russia, folks.

To my friends in Florida, be safe, be prepared, be ready. S**t's about to get real.

No charges for the Black Panthers, yet they want to railroad a "white Hispanic" guy when the black man is dead

Clear evidence that Obama and Holder are racists of the first order

I'd be just as mad if they'd done the same thing in support of Zimmerman. We're trusting the Department of Justice to be fair and impartial!

What happened to the broad with the scales and the blindfold?

It's not just Florida that needs to be bracing for verdict.

I'd suggest every major metro area (especially those the are colored blue on certain maps) should be real nervous right now. And quite a few smaller cities might want to be ready as well. For refuges if not for violence.

Keep your powder dry folks.

C'mon. IF the DOJ was "Neutral," then 99% of the new Anti-Gun Laws passed since Newtown would be up before the Federal Courts for all the Civil Rights Violations that have occurred.

And there are news stories that Florida Law Enforcement are shifting to "Condition Orange," because they remember what happened to LA after the Rodney King Verdict.

AND it's supposed to be REALLY HOT next week east of the Rockies, which ALWAYS brings out the best behavior in certain Inner City Neighborhoods.

Stay Alert.
