Sixth Annual Northeast Bloggershoot, Final Update: Ordnance Roundup!

Well, the Sixth Annual Northeast Bloggershoot is a week from tomorrow, and a week from today folks will be arriving in advance. It still humbles me that folks come from as far away as y'all do to come play with us, and I'm hoping that you have as much fun as I do...

Friday night Les is spearheading a dinner at the Ruby Tuesday in Nashua (there's only one, google it if you have to) with a get-together time of 7:30. I'm going to try to be there and hang out for at least a portion of the evening. If you're in the area, or arriving Friday evening, come join us!

We're still trying to figure out specifics for Saturday night, but I'm thinking that a later dinner (7:30 - 8:00) would work best - give folks time to decompress after shooting, and get ordnance home and stowed for those that are local. It also puts us out past the Saturday rush, and if we've got a good size group just sitting down at 8, we'll most likely close the place out. I think the majority of out-of-town folks are staying in Nashua, so let's think of something in that area. Maybe the Mexican place we hit two years ago?

Now, for the ordnance. Here's what's in the cases for the shoot:

Rifles:
Turk Mauser in 8mm
SKS in 7.62 X 39mm
Rossi 92 in .357 Magnum/.38 Special
Kel-Tec SUB2000 in 9mm
Ruger 10/22 Takedown
Bushmaster .223/5.56mm

Handguns:
Smith & Wesson model 27 .357 Magnum
Smith & Wesson model 360PD .357 Magnum (the "Snubbie from Hell")
Smith & Wesson model M&P 9c
Hi-Standard HD Military .22LR
Ruger 22/45 .22LR
Ruger SR9c
SIG SAUER P250 subcompact .45 ACP

I know I'm forgetting a few pieces, but that's what I'm planning on now. If there's anything from the armory y'all would like to try out, give a holler and I'll see if I can make some room in the cases.

So, what's everyone else bringing?

That is all.

Thanks for setting all this up Jay. I've been wanting to attend one of these for a couple of years now. (And also thanks to Les for arranging the Friday festivities. Count me in!)

My arty list:
P-64 pistol (9mm Makarov)
P238 pistol (.380 ACP)
LC9 pistol (9mm Parabellum)
MP40c pistol (.40 S&W)
Blackhawk revolver (.45 Colt)
AK-47 rifle (7.62x39)
PSL rifle (7.62x54R)
Hi-point 9mm rifle (9mm Parabellum)
M1 Garand rifle (.30-06)
Marlin 1895 rifle (.45-70)
Savage 99 rifle (.250 Savage)

With ammo for all, but some will be in short supply. I'm lowest on .380, but I have the stuff to load it so I'll try to crank out a few more boxes. Ditto for the .45-70, although people don't normally shoot as much of that. (Surprisingly, our local Dick's Sporting Goods has a ton of it on the shelf. Don't know why; you can't hunt big game with rifles around here.)

If anyone has a rifle in .45 Colt they can bring, I'd sure appreciate a turn with it. I have my own ammo.

wv: 92. Prophetic? Maybe I'll find a gun shop on the way home with a Rossi for sale.

Have fun, guys.

Traveling light this year. Still the 6.5 Swede, the .308 Mauser, the Smith 28 in .357, and the Surprise New Gun in 9mm. Remember that I HAVE to drive through the VolksRepublik of New York, and God Forbid I get into a Car Accident. So No Belt Feds, Full Auto, etc for me.

Oh, and for any Early Birds who want to come out Friday Night, contact Jay ASAP so I can get a Head Count to Reserve the Table. And since the place stays open until Midnight, 7:30 pm is just the Start Time. : )

I'm bringing a 10 Gauge Muzzleloading Shotgun :D

Bubblehead Les. said...

Brau, if you bring the 10 Gauge, SOMEONE bring Christina LMT! ; )

Jay, you have got to get a matching pair of a Rossi 92 SRC and a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454.

See how they compare to the Snubbie from Hell.

I suppose I will bring:

A Mosin Nagant
AK-47
One of my .22 rifles
Yugo Mauser (maybe)
Remington R1
Glock 26
Ruger MKII...

...and whatever else it looks like I can fit into my trunk.

I will be bringing 440 rounds of 7.62x54R and a brick of .22LR and that ammo will be available to be shot up at the Bloggershoot by any of the attendees.

I will try to be there in Nashua for the dinner on Friday evening and will still be around for the dinner on Saturday night too.

All the best,
Glenn B

Okay, I'll bring the Alaskan, the S&W 500 and the little Mossberg. Maybe a Swedish Mauser and my little Ruger #1.

I will think of some others. I really ought to have something new to bring, i will see what Kittery has on offer this weekend.

Have to check ammo supplies, that will shape what I bring.

Dave H said...

JD: Thank you. I appreciate it.

Wally: Will you allow steel cased ammo in that M16, or brass only?

Les and Jay: One for Friday night, please.

Cousin Les, count Cher and I in for Friday (and saturday dinner too). We're staying at the same place you are too. I see they have kitchens, don't suppose you'll make a batch of plum dumplings?

I'm probably going to travel lighter then ever this year. The 1911 for Les, the Encore with the 30-06 barrel, maybe my 22/45 so jay can see what a difference a few inexpensive mods make, probably one of my 10/22s cause you always have to have a 10/22. Maybe the Contender with the .44mag barrel? Maybe something with a bayonet. Not too much new in the safe, since I promised myself I would try not to buy another gun until I escaped from Konnektikut (unless something special came along, heh).

No Cannon?

I'm not sure of all of it yet, but here is what I am sure of,

AR15 built on a YA lower. Yes, it's the "Get Off My Lawn" special so Wally can see that I didn't hack it up during the build. :)

A S&W 34d generation semi auto. I don't know which one.

An Enfield because, it's an Enfield.

S&W Model 18 revolver.

Mosin 91/59 because everyone likes the big flame!

SKS?

Lever action Marlin?

Still thinking.

Les/Jay, we're probably going for the Friday festivities, as I (we) think by the end of the day on Sat. we'll be shagged out.

And Anon...the cannon LIVES here.

This should be a really interesting weekend. Looking forward to the fin and festivities.

Bringing with four, count 'em, four things . . . .
* Ruger Mark-III 22/45
* Marlin 60 tube feed .22 rifle
* Mosin Nagant M44
* Win 1894 in .30-30

I will not be bringing my 91/30, aka The Lovely and Deadly Miss Lyudmila.

The Win 94 is a pre-1964 edition and is really more of a show-and-tell gun. I'm helping the owner sell it if anyone's interested. Pricing is negotiable. Any reasonable offer will be entertained.

I've got me a wacky idea . . .
Since there will be a number of Mosin Nagant variants present, we need at least one turn on the line with only the Mosins.

Too Old, you need to pit your Enfield against my pal Alan's Jungle Carbine. His carbine's a hoot. If you don't mind corrosive surplus ammo, I'd love a turn at your 91/59 to compare it against my M44.

Wally, while I'd of course like a turn at the AK-54 Franken-gun, I'd like to talk about MA legal post ban magazines. I'd be interested in a couple as insurance.

See everyone in a week.

Brad

Could someone email me directions or geographic coordinates to the range? I know in general where it is, but I don't want to pull into the wrong driveway and start unloading a small arsenal.

The email address in my profile is fine, thanks.

Dave H :
No issues with steel case. I am more partial to bullets that don't attract a magnet but for the limited use it will see, I am not so worried.

Glenn B said...

Ah, the directions, please mail them to me too.

Also, let me know, can I bring some targets that go boom. Not those little squares I brought last year but larger ones you mix in a plastic jar.

Dave H said...

Wally: I found a box of American Eagle FMJ among my stash, so I think we're good. My magnet happily ignores it.

Glenn B said...

Is anyone besides Jay, and maybe me, bringing an 8mm Mauser. I have some milsurp corrosive ammo to shoot up. If you are willing to put it through your gun, I will bring a good amount to dole out for free but only for use at the Bloggershoot (no taking it to take home).
