My Secret Is Out!

Reader Joe contacted me. He had discovered my secret. He was going to blackmail me, so I had to come clean...

Shorts / Bald to Badass in Two Easy Steps

You know, the funny part is, there's a good deal of truth in this. It's not that shaving your head makes you a badass, it's that you make that last jump from "oh my god, I'm losing my hair" to "f**k it, I look better with it gone anyways". You no longer fear going bald, you embrace it. I started losing my hair at 19 - thanks, male pattern baldness. By the time I was 24 I had no hair left at all. I started shaving my head ten years ago, and can't imagine going back.

Goatee optional, though - I'm pretty fond of the 'stache...

That is all.

Not affected by this, but my hair and beard started turning grey when I was 28, and now, 5 years later, my beard especially is firmly grey(especially on the sides, the goatee part is still salt&pepper), and the hair wouldn't look out of place on a silverback gorilla...

My brother would look like a real bad ass because he has some pretty good facial scars from a wreck. He'd scare children and old ladies for sure.

Of course he actually is a bad ass which helps.

I made it a little farther than 19 (44), but mine is finally starting to recede a bit. Problem is, some people have a head shape that looks good bald, such as yourself, if you don't mind my saying.

Unfortunately, the shape of my head is no great shakes with hair on it. I'm afraid that on its own, it'll look like something you'd find washed up on the beach. Near Chernobyl.

I determined that if I was going to go bald I would do it on my terms.

My pattern has that wispy tuft on the forehead and if I was going to shave that to look less dorky, then why stop there?

The goatee was a natural extension of the shaving.
