More Russian (Bad) Drivers...

Following up on my Friday post about Russian drivers on YouTube, the BLNN sends in this sad story:

18 dead, 25 injured in truck-bus crash in Moscow's outskirts
MOSCOW – Eighteen people are dead after a truck carrying macadam ran into a passenger bus in an outlying area of Moscow.

The Emergency Services Ministry says in a statement that 25 other people were injured in the Saturday crash. The severity of the injuries wasn't stated.
Now, it says that the truck hit the bus in the side, but given what we've seen from Russian dash cam video, that has no bearing on who might have been at fault. It's possible the bus ran a red light - or, given what we've seen, was flying through the air trying to escape a runaway tank... It's unfortunate that so many lost their lives, of course, but given the general level of care and caution shown by Russian drivers it's amazing it doesn't happen more often.

I'm thinking of a new reality show where Boston drivers are put into a Lada and sent off to the Moscow suburbs for a week of commuting fun and surprises...

That is all.

I made a Boston driver back off going into the tunnel from the airport by waving my rental agreement at him.

I'd pay cash money to see that show.

Boston drivers don't even rate on my personal list of regional bad drivers. Rhode Island tops the list, followed by DC, Connecticut, Philadelphia, and the slightly distinguishable northern Virginia domesticated turkey.

FYI, the truck blew the light, rolled on it's side and then hit the bus with all the gravel going THROUGH the bus... Pretty sad story, and apparently the truck driver had been fined at least 10 times in the last year...

Where's the kickstarter for that show? I have my credit card right here...

"A truck carrying 119 gas cylinders caught fire after colliding with a bus yt carrying 28 people on Moscow's Ring Road. The truck driver had minor injuries and everyone else escaped unharmed. Then the cylinders began exploding"

Wait until the end...

Repeat after me:
"KhooliGANi kyurYAT na trolLAYboosak."

"Hooligans smoke on the trolleybuses."

That's why the gas cylinders ignited (and I thought knowing how to say that in Russian would NEVER be useful).
