Friday Gun Pr0n #329

I don't have one of the scandium Smith & Wesson .44 Magnums to showcase today. Even *I* am not that much of a sadist. What I do have, though, is something even more special.

You see, my buddy Ross is going through some changes. He recently managed to escape the Volksrepublik. He's moved to Vermont, and he's pondering getting into the gun biz. He sends me this e-mail a while back, and I have his permission (and someone else's) to use it:
Here ya go, Jay. I asked Alix to marry me this morning. We met at an Appleseed Shoot, BTW. And it'll be an open carry wedding. :-)

It's how he asked Alix to marry him that was so awesome. He gave her this:

Now that, right there my friends, is how you get it done. Well done, Ross. Well done.

Please join me in wishing the happy couple well. Mazel Tov!

That is all.

I showed my wife the picture. She said "Awwww, I hope she said 'Yes!'"

I said "She'd better give him a GUN that says 'Yes'"

That's one way to do it. :)

All right! The family that shoots together... um... help me out here.

Anyway, three cheers for Alix and Ross!

Well done sir. Best of luck and remember, the couple who reloads together, stays together.

With a little hard work, THIS family that shoots together will be opening a gun shop together!

Thanks for all the well wishes, folks. And for those who were wondering, her exact words were "Of course I'll marry you!". *huge grin*

And her comment over my shoulder right now is "Nothin' says lovin' like a 1911". See why I love her?

But did they shoot "Rifleman"? Are they going back to Appleseed?

So according to Wiki, the Modern U.S. Anniversary presents seem to show that Silver Bullets would be appropriate gifts for the Fifth anniversary.

Don't Forget, Ross!

Congrats to you both, and nicely done on the engagement gift AND relocation, Ross!

We are both shoot bosses now! We met during Tropical Storm Danny, in August '09, when I shot a 210 at Harvard Sportsmen's Club, and he was my shoot boss.

Congratulations to them. They're both nice people and I'm glad they found each other.

.45ACP+P - if it wasn't for Appleseed we'd never have met. I shot Rifleman in '08, IIRC, and was the Shoot Boss when Alix shot her Rifleman score.

She did it shooting in a TROPICAL STORM, lying on a muddy range with a three foot wide "stream" running under her mat, and WITHOUT a sling.

And then decided, as she alluded to above, to take her orange hat, become an instructor and then a shoot boss. Yeah, you could say we've been back to Appleseed. :-)

Thanks for all the kind words, folks. Much appreciated!

Congratulations Ross!

I spend quite a bit of time up in VT during the winters (over in Waitsfield), so if you do end up opening a shop up there, I will definitely have to check it out.

Congratulations again!
