Sometimes, The Posts Write Themselves...

So, last night I was looking through the pictures from my trip to VA, when I came across this one:

That's me holding red-headed blog-stepchild Michael W.'s black powder 12 gauge coach gun. #1 Blogdaughter saw the look I got in my eye when he took it out of the case and suggested we get a picture of me holding it. Now, I've got a soft spot for a good 12 gauge coach gun - one of these years I'm going to have to find one - and this one combines the short barrel (14"), which makes it even more awesome.

Just look at that picture. Tell me that isn't the picture to have hanging on the wall, 11X17 or larger, when Baby Girl G. brings home her first suitor. "Son, you know that black powder rifles can't be traced, right?" I mean, if that picture isn't seared - seared - into the brain of any boy who wants to take out my precious little angel, well, there's nothing else I can do, is there? "You ever see a shallow grave in the woods, boy? Treat her well and you won't have to."

*sigh* Looks like it's off to see if I can find anyone at CZ-USA who needs one of these tested...

That is all...

LMAO! Before I even read the post, that's exactly what I thought - waiting on the post for Baby Girl G's date.

$900 for the CZ? Ouch. You should be able to find an old farmer's double barrel for not too much.

I highly recommend the Rossi Overland. 12 Gauge, 3", 18.5" barrels, exposed hammers, double triggers.

I was able to pick one up for what I now suspect may be a pittance at one of MA's friendly neighborhood gun shops, but even at gunbroker prices, it need not be too dear.

Heh. You look like you've got just the spot picked out to hide the body.

Having shot Lupis42's Rossi, all I can say is....I want one....

Quote from the conversation I had with my first girlfriend's father as I waited for her to get ready:

Him - Son, have you ever seen a man die?

Me - No sir.

Him - Well, I have. How early are you going to get her home?

I've seen that look before. When I was working on A2 Block at Richmond City Jail. That's were we kept those awaiting psych evals.

Shallow grave? Aren't you close to the ocean?

You need to get more current than that old technology you were holding:

I didn't need that look.

I once dated the daughter of the New Orleans District Attorney......

Every cop knew my car.

Captcha: bombastic manvice

Somehow weirdly appropriate?

I kept waiting for a pun there, Jay. Something along the lines of "Be good when you take my girl out, young man... so I won't have to take YOU out."

Although, you know, if Baby Girl G. follows in the footsteps of her big brother -- or of my own Miss Z., for that matter -- then future suitors might have to face up to HER marksmanship. (I have some of Z's nicer-looking targets; one day I'll mount them on the wall, just so some pimply-faced beau can gulp and ask me, "Did YOU do that??" I'll smile and say "No, that was Z; she's a better shot than me. Don't piss her off."

The only thing that would make that picture better was if you were kilted up.
