Business Owner Pulls Own Gun, Kills Robber In Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A business owner shot and killed a robber Monday in Newark.

Around 3:20 p.m., the suspect walked into an unidentified business in the 500 block of Central Avenue in Newark with a loaded gun and a backpack, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark police.

The suspect announced a robbery, and ordered the owner to fill the backpack with money and gold. The suspect said he would shoot the owner’s family members if the owner did not comply, authorities said.
I wonder if that goblin's gun had more than 7 rounds in it. Or, being as how this was in New Jersey, hollowpoints. I'd sure like to see his valid New Jersey concealed carry permit - or, for that matter, his license to rob. Oh, wait. He's a criminal. He doesn't care about any of those things. Which is why, when he tells you he's going to kill your family, you should take him at his word and act accordingly.

Now, the CSGV and Brady folks think that you should curl up into a ball and hope he changes his mind. Or call the police and hope they get there before he gets around to murdering you. They certainly don't think you should fight back - there's that "we discourage self-help" again - and they absolutely don't think you should use the best tool for the job.

Fortunately, they are in the minority and getting more so every single day.

Dead Goblin Count: 411

That is all.

This is why we need a Thieves Guild. Let them police their own. First offense of stealing without a license precludes the option of a second offense.

Viva Ankh-Morpork!
