HPD: Houston suspect shot dead during attempted driveway robbery
A Harris County grand jury is expected to determine what, if any, charges will be filed against a man who fatally shot a suspect during a robbery Thursday evening at a home in north Houston.Okay, so what do you make out of that? He gave them what they asked for, but it still wasn't enough. Maybe they just wanted to see what kind of cash, electronics, or jewelry he had laying around to grab and they they'd leave. Or perhaps they wanted to get rid of the victim so he couldn't call the cops. The point is, you just don't know. I can't imagine anything *good* was going to happen inside the house, though.
A resident pulled into his driveway about 5:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Rebecca, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said as the man got out of his vehicle, a gold Lexus sports utility vehicle pulled into the driveway behind him. Three men wearing masks and armed with guns got out of the SUV and demanded that he give them his car keys and other items. As the victim handed over what the men wanted, they ordered him to lead them into his house.
Notice, again, that we have multiple armed aggressors here. They're relying not only on their superior numbers but also on weapons - and yet they still lost. Three-to-one odds and they had the drop on their victim - but because the victim was prepared to pull the trigger, he won. Simply having the firearm wasn't enough for the goblins, not when they came face-to-face with a victim with the mindset of a fighter.
"When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk" - wise advise there, Tuco.
Dead Goblin Count: 392
That is all.
