It's Not Just Tax Day, It's BAG Day!

Yes, I haven't forgotten. Today is not only the day that we send in reams of paperwork for the IRA to receive some of our money back (if lucky), but also National Buy a Gun Day!

I'm going to have to punt this year and consider the SIG SAUER P238 my BAG Day Gun:

I haven't had much chance to shoot it yet, only a handful of times, but it is by far the easiest shooting pocket 380 I've shot - single action will do that. Will be putting up a review in the near future, but I liked it enough to buy it at the conclusion of the T&E period, so that should tell you something... Of course, that something might just be "Jay really likes the 1911 design and can't bear to part with one"...

I've already had a couple folks send in pictures of their BAG Day acquisitions. I'd love to put up a collection of pictures for tomorrow, so if you got something you want to share, send it on in! If there's a story that goes with it, by all means jot it down and I'll include it. I think this year is even more important to support the various gun manufacturers at these perilous times.

So, if you have a BAG Day, send it in!

That is all.

I have ordered my BAG-day purchase but it won't arrive for a few weeks.

@Dave H --> if you're reading this, let me just say that my Bag Day purchase will be a nice companion piece to my 91/30.

Email inbound.

I see why you like the P238. I have one in arm's reach as I write this. Just in case my PC decides to go on a disgruntled rampage, you understand. (grin) It took me a while to figure out what "combat sights" means, but I've got them working now. Those SIGLITE sights are nice.

Brad: Can't wait to see it. I can think of a couple of items that might fit your description, but I'll wait and let you make the announcement rather than guess.

It's not here yet. The funds to finish payment for it are rapidly accumulating. It's a Ruger, a big Ruger. A stainless steel Ruger.
A Ruger in .45 Colt. It's a Stainless Steel Ruger Bisley Vaquero single action revolver chambered in .45 Colt. The OLD model Vaquero based upon the Blackhawk frame. Strong and durable, ready to leap tall buildings with a single round. Grips are waiting here for it in Amboyna Burl.
Photos will be supplied when it arrives in about two weeks.
It will join its little brother, a blued steel Ruger Bisley single action revolver in .22 rimfire.

Bag day this year, well nothing for me but I do have an entire TRUCKLOAD of lower receiver forgings inbound, to be milled into Conspirators.

I do expect to make other's BAG day a little late this year!

Wally, I guess that makes you Santa Claus, making a BAG (day) full of toys for all the good kids.

My "buy a gun" item was on Saturday.
Old Stevens 311 side by side.

Has one "issue"...the rear trigger is bent. As in, bent enough to protrude past the trigger guard. But for what I paid for it, I can either see if it can be fixed or just live with it that way, or...
