Senate rejects expanded gun background checks
Washington (CNN) -- In a major defeat for supporters of tougher gun laws, the U.S. Senate on Wednesday defeated a compromise plan to expand background checks on firearms sales as well as a proposal to ban some semi-automatic weapons modeled after military assault weapons.

The votes were on a series of amendments to a broad package of gun laws pushed by President Barack Obama and Democratic leaders in the aftermath of the Newtown school massacre in December.

Obama is busy blaming everyone but himself; he's accusing the NRA of lying - without ever giving specifics, of course. And also bringing out the cherry picked data point of "90% support of universal background checks". Then, of course, he urges Americans to contact their Senators. Newsflash, genius: WE'VE BEEN DOING JUST THAT.

There are no tears as sweet as those of a sad fascist panda...

I think we need some Conan...

That is all.

"Lamentation of the women"? Did Sen. Feinstein cry? Somehow I find that hard to believe.

You made my night with the Conan clip. Now to convince Amanda that watching the whole movie would be a desirable thing...

I always liked the comment made by a critic that Arnold's performance in Conan gave barbarians a bad name.

What part of "No" does he not understand? "No" means "No".
We are a republic, not a democracy. What the "majority" want based on a poll does not matter, especially when it conflicts with the U.S. Constitution.

He really is becoming annoying and is no doubt a terrible father.

Yes, Mr. Prez, no means no.

We have contacted our senators and house members, but told them something else that you just don't want to hear, or perhaps you refuse to even think about it at all let alone imagine.

Where exactly did the 90% number come from? "The will of the people was ignored" Uh-Huh, yeah sure right.

If the will of the people is being ignored then here is something to chew on.

Most people I know want...

The Wall street bankers and mortgage lenders prosecuted.

The wealthy taxed hard and heavy.
Same for Corporations

The war in the Middle East stopped.

Guantanamo Bay closed to detainees held without a trial. Use it for people like the AZ shooter of Gabby Giffords, Bankers, etc.

Drones landed and parked unless they are only going to be used to gather intel.

The border with Canada and Mexico reopened.

The patriot act repealed.

The TSA disbanded.

Fund mental health adequately.

That's basically it, but you won't do that either, so now how does it feel when the shoe is on the other foot? No you may not try again and again. You will though because you have no shame and definitely no moral decency.

Enough is Enough

That line is so awesome that I'm going to shamelessly rip it off. It'll make the perfect caption for a screen-cap from Zero's press conference. I see a "sad fascist panda" meme in the future

The incredible arrogance of liberals is once again on display. EVERY time they lose, be it an election or a fight like this, they whine that the people just didn't get their message. NEWSFLASH: We ***DID*** get your message, loud and clear. We just reject it AND YOU!

F'ing arrogant, statist bastards!
