Having a Hard Time Raising the Giveadamn-o-meter...

Nope. Sorry. Can't get worked up about this one.

NY suspect accused of killing mom, raping girl beaten in jail
Authorities say a man accused of killing a Syracuse woman and raping her 10-year-old daughter during a carjacking was beaten and suffered a broken nose on his first day in jail.

The Post-Standard, of Syracuse, reports that David Renz had a swollen face and tissues stuffed up both nostrils when he appeared in federal court Friday to face a probation violation charge.

Cry me a river.

This sadistic POS collected tons of child pr0n, got busted for it, received - big shock here - a slap on the wrist and was confined to home monitoring. He took off his monitoring bracelet in such a manner that allowed him to escape unnoticed. He then kidnapped a woman and her 10 year old daughter, eventually killing the mother.

And I'm supposed to feel bad because he got punched in the face in prison? Really?

You know, I do feel bad. I feel bad that one of the other prisoners didn't cave his worthless skull in with a brick and save the state of New York the expense of prosecuting him. Lord knows these f**king morons will probably let him out with another bracelet or something equally stupid. It really seems like there's some sort of sick "free pass until you kill" going on - we hear so many of these stories where violent, dangerous criminals are slapped on the wrist and sent back out into society.

I know, you're sick of hearing it. I'm sick of saying it. We do not have a gun problem. We have a criminal problem. No, scratch that. We have a criminal justice problem. We have a guy who committed a serious crime - he was in possession of a significant amount of child pornography - and was essentially set free. To compound matters, he managed to remove his electronic monitoring bracelet and was not discovered for five hours, in which time he managed to kill someone. Thank goodness that little girl escaped, because I have a feeling we'd be looking at two deaths and one killer on the loose.

Boy, it's a good thing New York has a ban on "high capacity" magazines, though, isn't it?

That is all.

There can be no cruel or unusual punishment for this scum.

Notice that this happened while he was in the LOCAL lockup while waiting to see the FEDERAL Judge. I'm thinking that if this was kept on the Local Level, the Local Judge would have had to travel to the ICU to have the Arraignment.

But Justice MUST be Served! I DEMAND that the Local Jailers be Punished for Violating the Civil Rights of this Man! They MUST pay for their Heinous Crimes against Innocent-Until-Proven-Guilty Goblins!

They MUST be FORCED to buy their own Donuts for a WEEK! Nothing less will do!

I say the punishment should include giving the girl's father or nearest upstanding relative an hour of alone time with him, with access to implements of their choice.

But yes, child molesters tend to get beat up in jail because even most criminals have some standards, but often a lack of restraint.

"accused of killing"

He hasn't been convicted YET. Do we want justice with due process and fair trials or do we want justice like the y have in tribal Afghanistan?

When convicted, I want the scum guilty of the crime to get beaten and hanged. Only after hes been shown guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

Never mind that! I'm just glad the Big Gulp prohibition was in place.

New York. We can't keep you safe from rapists and murderers. We don't want you to defend yourself against them. But by golly, you're safe here from Demon Diet Coke! (Unless your restaurant has free refills...)

He actually hasn't been tried or convicted on the first charges yet.

He was out on bail(!) pending further action by the US Attorney and FBI.

He managed to disable his ankle bracelet and head out to commit more serious crimes.

It doesn't matter much whee he's held, his life is going to be interesting.

He might well not live to be tried on any of the charges.

It's not cruel and unusual. It's preventative maintenance to rapists!!!
