For Your Easter Enjoyment...

As seen on Facebook...

Slow-Mo Video: Peeps and Cadbury Easter Eggs vs. 50 Cal. Rifle Bullet
Both Cadbury’s chocolate creme-filled eggs and Peeps (of all animal shapes) have made it onto “worst” Easter candy lists. And yet, they still make a strong appearance every year, filling up many an Easter basket if for nothing more than tradition.

What is to be done with the candies if you’re a) not a fan or b) don’t want to hang onto them for that moment a month or so from now when you’re so desperate for a sweet you’ll take anything?

The YouTube channel ratedrr has an idea for you — shoot ‘em.

Here, take a look:

Now that's one way to make sure you won't gain any weight from that Easter candy!

That is all.

Excellent - I always particularly hate the Cadbury eggs. Time to see if I have any larger caliber ammo around for later this week.

I'm surprised a 50 could only get through that small amount....my wife could mow down that whole line in 5 secs flat!!!

Great music! Liked the Peeps double-stack.

Pretty efficient firing squad lineup. With ammo prices the way they are, that's how to get the most bang for your buck.

An excellent choice of targets!

Keeping with the seasonal theme, I'm tempted to ask what he could do with a box of matzo -- but nah, that's too easy...

Daniel,

Chag Sameach !!!

Last year I used leftover boxes of Maztoh as targets for a .40 caliber Ruger pistol and my Mosin Nagant 91/30, aka, The Lovely and Deadly Miss Lyudmila. The plastic wrap on the box tends to hold everything together, so there's no "splat" if you will. Moreover, the bullet from the mosin being steel core just punches nice little .311 holes through the boxed flats. When taken from the box and set on the berm, the matzoh sheets make nifty targets for any .22 rifle.

And today is a good day to hit the grocery and get Peeps at clearance prices. Thx for the reminder; I would've forgotten.

Steve, it sorta looks like the bullet is getting some deflection from the nails used as target stays. Otherwise, I think he'd've gotten complete penetration.

A friend of mine told me once about using Necco wafers on a string. Not sure how you get them on a string -- glue? Anyways, there's a trick to it which allowed him to "beat" several other shooters. Wish I could recall the details. I think it involved .22LR.
