So, Who's Going To Iowa?

Thousands gather in Iowa for annual bacon festival
DES MOINES, Iowa – The smell of bacon was in the air Saturday as thousands converged on Iowa's capital city for an increasingly popular festival celebrating all things connected with the meat.

Some people wore Viking hats and others walked around with makeshift snouts for the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival. The annual event featured more than 10,000 pounds of bacon served in unusual ways, such as chocolate-dipped bacon and bacon-flavored cupcakes and gelato.

I think I speak for everyone when I say:

They also mention a bacon eating contest. I am pretty sure I could win that.

That is all.

I gotta admit . . . we do know how to make bacon around here!!! I have a good friend with a company that raises all livesock - including pigs - as "grassfed". This produces the BEST bacon I have ever tasted in my whole life!!! Bacon . . . it's what we do!

Even if someone eats more bacon, you've been eating bacon.

So you win.

I was pissed that they sold out that fast. My wife clicked confirm right at the four minute mark. I curse the interwebs and lag!

I had to sit at home and eat bacon and drink beer. It was terrible. ;)

They are talking about expanding it to 2 days next year.
