Ooh RAH!

Joseph in IL sends in the feel-good story of the day.

Marine Veteran Stops Rape Attempt Along Lakefront
CHICAGO (CBS) – A Marine veteran came to the aid of a woman who was being assaulted on the Lakefront Bike Path on Wednesday.

CBS 2’s Susanna Song reports 24-year-old Michael Adams, an East Side resident, was driving south on Lake Shore Drive near 63rd Street Wednesday afternoon, when he saw a young man apparently trying to rape a woman along the lakefront.
Semper fi, semper badass. In today's day and age, fewer and fewer people are willing to risk getting involved, either from a fear of retaliation, lack of ambition, nor simple inaction. This Marine, unsurprisingly, suffers from none of that. He saw something bad going down, he stepped in, he prevented something bad from happening.

Mere words cannot express how grateful I am that people like him walk among us.

That is all.

I would say some are afraid to get involved because of our overly litigious society and the fact that many cops will hang you anyway if given a chance.

It's that fear that has put a serious chill on many who would do something.
