I Think I Get It Now...

Let's see. In the past few weeks, we've seen:

CO Democrats advocating rape whistles and "safe zones".

DHS to be arming their agents with scissors.

Joe Biden offering home defense tips (which, BTW, breaks DE law)

Another CO Democrat claims women should learn judo to prevent attacks.

A company makes targets aimed at desensitizing police officers towards shooting kids and pregnant women.

Vice President Biden the gun expert tells women that AR-15s are too complicated to use effectively.

The University of CO tells female students to vomit or urinate on themselves to prevent rape.

Folks, this is too much for me to even parody. If five months ago, when Todd Akin was being (rightfully) raked over the coals for his comments about rape and abortion, you would have told me that Democrats would be advocating rape-free zones, puking on one's self, or learning judo to prevent rape, I'd have thought you lost your mind. Then again, it's only shocking if a Republican does it.

I really don't even know what to say. The lengths that Democrats will go to in an effort to pretend that firearms are not viable self-defense tools has gone from merely sad and pathetic into outright caricature. If you sat down and thought of the dumbest possible advice to give someone about a home defense situation, taking a two-shot weapon and emptying it without looking for your backstop is right up at the top. Why they haven't put a muzzle on Biden is beyond me - every time he opens his mouth about guns something stupid falls out.

Is it just me, or is the level of "just plain stupid" rising?

That is all.

Why haven't they put a muzzle on Biden? Simple.

Muzzle (brakes) are disqualifying features and would turn him into an assault politician :-D

Think the advice would be the same if the statistic was that 1 in 6 MEN will be raped in their lifetime? Remind me again which party has the War on Women?

+1 Matt Sorrell

@ DixieLaurel: hell no, it would not be the same at all.

I agree with Jay, the level of "just plain stupid" is on the rise at an alarming rate.

To quote: Governor William J. Le Petomane: Holy underwear! Sheriff murdered! Innocent women and children blown to bits! We have to protect our phoney baloney jobs here, gentlemen! We must do something about this immediately! Immediately! Immediately! Harrumph! Harrumph! Harrumph!

Yep they are doing something, stupid and maybe even regrettable. The level of stupid is so thick that it has become yards of sh** smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. I wish they would all go away as in you are all FIRED!

The level of stupidity isn't rising. It just appears that way.

Actually, the Ship of State is experiencing Progressive flooding of bilgewater*, so her weather deck is getting ever-closer to the surface of an ocean of stupidity.

*Or should that be "flooding of Progressive bilgewater"?

The boldfaced text can be safely omitted.

Nope - it has gone waaay past "plain stupid" and gone well into the "special sort of stupid" zone.
When I hear these kinds of 'liberal (il)logic' I am always reminded of the old saying 'being born an idiot is excusable but losing ground isn't'.

Look at any decent Polling Date over the last 40 years, and you'll find 20-25% of those Polled support some of the most Idiotic Ideas, Policies and Politicians that have come down the pike. It's just finally ate through the Toxic Waste Container of Common Sense and is Spilling all over the Ground.
