Speaking over each other for a few moments, Clinton finally blurted: "With all due respect, the fact is, we had four dead Americans! Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they'd go kill some Americans?! What difference, at this point, does it make?! It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator. Now, I'm scratching my head, because for like 5 out of 8 years of the Bush Presidency, we heard over and over and over about how "Bush Lied, People Died" with regards to Iraq and weapons of mass destruction. Despite the entire international intelligence community agreeing with the assessment that Iraq possessed WMDs, despite Iraq actually having used WMD on Iran in the Iran/Iraq war, George W. Bush was accused of lying about the motivations of the US in resuming martial operations in Iraq.
And now it's perfectly acceptable for Hillary Clinton to say that it doesn't matter what the motivations were in an attack? Really? That's the hill y'all want to die on? See, here's the thing, Hillary!. Your people went on national television and claimed that some obscure filmmaker - who you had arrested in the middle of the night over a parole violation - caused the attack. Your people went out and very deliberately lied - real, honest-to-goodness lies, about the reason behind the attack. Rather than admit it was a specific terrorist action, you pretended that it was a popular uprising caused by an attack on Islam - all the while knowing the real reason. Textbook definition of lie, right there.
Look, here's the thing. I was disappointed that we didn't find so-called "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq. Our best guess was that Hussein's regime did possess them at one point in time, but since they had not been conforming to the terms of the cease-fire, we couldn't be certain that these items had in fact been destroyed in accordance with the terms set forth at the conclusion of the first portion of the Gulf War. Saying that Bush "lied" about WMD is a far stretch, to say the least. It is quite telling that the same people who, merely a decade ago, were jumping up and down about Bush "lying" are strangely silent about Hillary!'s claim that that the reason for the Benghazi attack is immaterial. Particularly when the whole "angry riot" part was a big steaming whopper cooked up by the administration to cover up terrorist activity in the area...
Or, shorter, Obama lied, Americans died.
That is all.
