First off, I appended it to the story of the Reed Exhibits Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show kerfuffle, but here it is again:
Not only did Reed end up canceling the show, but they might even lose SHOT Show.
I'm sorry, you can't buy that kind of delicious, delicious irony. Boy, I'd be all kinds of broken up if SHOT Show were in Orlando next year, and I could shave 4+ hours off my travel time and not be 3 hours off in my sleep schedule. And not be in Vegas...
Secondly, Wally brought to my attention the flaming hypocrisy of our Secretary of State.
Sen. Clinton attacked the Bush administration's record on issues ranging from air and water quality to climate change and arctic drilling. She also accused the administration of misleading the American people about environmental science.Got that? "What difference does it make" whether the attack on the Benghazi embassy was a riot incited by an obscure internet filmmaker or a coordinated Al Quaeda attack... but when it's George W. Bush, well katy bar the door, they're deliberately misleading the American people! At least Bush's misleading doesn't coincide with a filmmaker being dragged out of his home in the middle of the night for parole violations...
And, finally, Jacqueline in Texas sends in an addendum to the story about the Texas Marine whose house was trashed:
Father of teens accused of vandalizing 93-year-old veteran’s home offers apology
HOUSTON – A 93-year-old war hero whose home was burglarized and trashed earlier this week got another surprise Wednesday.
"The father of the two children who broke into my house was here and he apologized," said Wood.
Jose Gonzalez stopped by as Marines, contractors and other volunteers began work on repairing Wood's damaged home.
Folks, I gotta tell you. My hat's off to Mr. Gonzalez there. That took guts, to go to that man's home and apologize for what your own flesh and blood did. I'm not sure if I would have died of shame, been in jail for beating my children, or committed seppuku before I got to that point. Huge honkin' props to Mr. Gonzalez for manning up and apologizing. I hope his boys learn from his example.
Gotta love the followups, especially with ones like these!
That is all.
