They're At It Again...

Got the following e-mail from a friend:
Just got word from my Buddy the Surplus Dealer.  PayPal just notified him this morning that they will no longer allow sales of Hi-Cap Magazines to be processed through them.  Doesn't matter who bought it, nor where it's going, it's Banned.  Also, it's just not him, but everyone, including the Big Boys.  Help spread the Word, okay?

Now, PayPal has never been a friend to gun owners; this is something that has been well-documented. But now they won't allow sales of metal boxes? Really? And only "politically incorrect" metal boxes at that - I hope that's not a harbinger of things to come. I hope it's just PayPal being a bunch of ninnies and not something more sinister, like Feinstein's gun grab already being in the works.

Be careful out there, folks, and always vigilant.

That is all.

UPDATE: Borepatch alerts us that the idiots that run Groupon have fallen victim to the same anti-gun mentality.

Die freezing in the cold, guys. There's a LOT more gun people out there than you might think.

Sounds like it's time to sell "custom cigar boxes - each box holds 30 cigars".

They can consider my account gone.

How does PayPal know what you're selling? I just wouldn't tell them.

I much prefer the vague-but-still-truthful "machine parts."

Yankee's link is interesting, because it ONLY identifies high capacity mags... Since 30 rounds are STANDARD, how can they refuse??? And when you add the pressure on banks to NOT loan to gun/gun equipment makers, yes it's already started!

That's interesting.

Two months aga I used PayPal to renew my 5-year NRA membership. Seemed o.k. with them at the time.

What Kim said. I'd stop using PayPal in a heartbeat if there was another system that was accepted in as many places.

Account closed, may they starve in the outer darkness.

They won't of course, but we "little people" do vote with our wallets and opinions and sometimes it's all we really can do.

Getting my stuff switched over so that my customers can use Swipe.

Might leave Paypal but add a $2 annoyance surcharge for using them.

Hi Everyone. Sorry I couldn't give more details earlier, but we're dealing with a family Health Crisis up here. Sean, what they did was come up with their new Policy, THEN they searched my Buddy's ENTIRE Site, THEN they FROZE his Account, THEN they notified them. If you use Paypal as a Business, part of the deal is that they get to "Monitor" your Business. Guess a few years back some illegal Shenanigans were going on, and Paypal was looking at "Aiding and Abetting" charges.

But my Buddy is not the only one who was singled out. This is Company Policy for ALL Business Accounts right now, and other Mom and Pops have been hit. Now, it probably won't hurt any of the Big Boys, but if your a Small Guy who can't afford to set up a Credit Card System for several thousand up front, PLUS the Monthly Fees, then Paypal was your only option except for Checks and Money Orders.

Now that's the Business end. What happens to the Customer end? Will Paypal tell you "No, you can't Buy the EVIL (Fill in the Blank) Gun Thingie"? Also, it seems that Paypal is a Division of eBay, and they Guys who are running eBay LOVE Obama and are BIG Donors.

Anyway, I've posted part of the eMail that Paypal sent over at Weer'd Beards site if you all want to see for yourself.

Thank you everyone for helping to spread the word.
