PD: Resident shoots, kills home intruder in N. Phoenix
PHOENIX - Phoenix police say an intruder is dead after he tried to break into a home and was shot by the occupant.
Phoenix police Officer James Holmes said the 35-year-old intruder was trying to pry open a window when he was spotted by a man who lives there. The occupant, his wife, and two young girls were in the home at the time.
From all accounts - including a neighbor - the goblin was either on drugs or had mental health issues. He was confronted by another person on the street earlier but left without incident; in this instance he made what the homeowner perceived as a threatening motion, appearing to be reaching for something in his waistband.
The article states that there is currently no word on whether the police found a weapon on the intruder. Why they felt the need to include this is beyond me - it was not disputed that the recently deceased was on the man's porch and pounding on the door. It is also specified that the goblin never made entry - again, hardly germane. The difference between a goblin inside your house and a goblin on your porch is a matter of seconds and a door frame.
And I'd rather rely on 1911 than 911 when my life and that of my family depends on a matter of seconds...
Dead Goblin Count: 356
That is all.
