Friday Addition!

Bob S. sends in today's addition:

Homeowner Shoots, Kills Armed Intruder
A grand jury will decide if a homeowner had the right to shoot and kill an armed man trying to break into a home in North Dallas Wednesday night.
The shooting happened in the 7700 block of McCallum Boulevard in North Dallas around 8:30 p.m.
The story mentions that marijuana was found in the apartment, but does not go any further. While it's possible this was a drug deal gone wrong, it's also equally possible that the resident was smoking a little recreational weed, or that the goblin had the pot in his possession when he reached room temperature. In any case, someone armed with a firearm got shot somewhere they weren't supposed to be. Even in the very first possibility - an ambush at a drug sale - I'm not going to lose any sleep over a dealer taking a dirt nap...

Let's see 400 before the summer, folks!

Dead Goblin Count: 358

That is all.

One minor flaw in the generally excellent DGC philosophy; it isn't legally "self defense" in Texas if the shooter is involved in a criminal activity at the time the shooting occurred (however tangential to the shooting said criminality might prove to be). Per Willie Nelson, simple possession of pot is still a crime here in Texas, so "Homeowner" may have to add an asterisk to his notation due to his own incarceration as a result of his contribution to the count.

We'll have to see how much pony the DA puts into his Grand Jury show.
