La Plus Ça Change...

...c'est la même chose...

'Hitler' appears on Ohio voter registration form
Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys, including Quarterback Tony Romo, were names that ACORN workers attempted to register to vote during the 2008 presidential election.

The ensuing outrage sparked a voter registration fraud scandal that helped lead to the activist group's demise, and put new focus on the integrity of third-party voter registration efforts during Presidential elections.

Now, four years later, the name: John Adolf Hitler, was one of those turned in on a voter registration form collected by another group in Cincinnati, according to the Hamilton County Board of Elections.

Mr. Hitler (GODWIN!) - no word if this is his real name or not - is also from CA. So, obviously NOTHING was learned from the last round of voter fraud, and all that talk about there being none, well, we keep giving evidence that there is. The group collecting signatures likes to point out that they are the ones that noted that the signatures might be fradulent; of course, it begs the very question of how many non-blatant fradulent signatures made it through without notice?

Or is that a feature, not a bug?

That is all.

The real question is how many registered voters named "John Smith" actually exist, compared to how many are registered.

Here in cheeseland, you hafta show proof of residence but (in most cases)not proof of identity to register. If your name isn't on your proof of residence, it ain't proof, so, you sorta are proving your ID. How can people register with fake names? Oh, and all those people voting with write-ins like "none of the above" are wasting their time since we don't count those votes.

Down here in TX you have to show a voter registration card or a driver's license. Water districts and school districts respect no municipal borders, and up here I suspect those are more hotly contested than the state and national races. Especially the groundwater district races. :)
