It Was Thirty Years Ago Today...

I heard about this on the radio on the drive into work this morning...

Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' album turns 30 today
Thirty years ago today, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" hit record store shelves, making an undeniable mark on music history.
Jackson's sixth studio album introduced seven chart-topping singles, including the tracks "Billie Jean," "Human Nature," and, of course, "Thriller."
Okay, first off, but damn. 30 years ago. Now I feel old. Almost Alan old. You know what the funny part is, though? My daughter just last month participated in "Thrill the School", where a bunch of 3rd through 6th graders learned the "Thriller dance" and put on a Halloween display set to "Thriller". Thirty years after the album came out...

Now, my daughter's 9. When I was 9, an album that came out 30 years prior would have been 1950. I can't name a single song from 1950; yet my daughter knows all the words to "Thriller". That's pretty impressive right there...

Then again, any song with Vincent Price in it has got to be epic...

That is all.

You're such a young man. 30 years ago, I was a firefighter, watching "Thriller" on the brand-new MTV at the firehouse.

Nostalgia ain't what it used be...

I remember watching that video while at an all night rollerskating marathon! They "premiered" it at midnight and everyone stopped skating (safety first!) to watch...

has it really been 30 years?! Ouch...

Sure you can..........

Just think about what was on the radio in your parents car when you were 9.

In my case it was Chattanooga choo choo and all the other glen miller stuff.
