Color Me Forgetful...

With everything that's been going on recently, I completely forgot about National Ammo Day this past Monday. I got a reminder on my front porch yesterday, when this arrived:

100 rounds of .223 Remington and .308 Winchester Match Grade ammo for my York Arms AR and my Savage model 10. And, for good measure, 100 rounds of lead round nose .38 Special to practice in the indoor range over the cold, cold winter. Long range rifle ammo, short range defensive practice ammo. Long-barreled rifles for multiple hundred yard shots, short barreled revolvers for close-in defensive practice. Oh, and a new ammo box, because the only time you have too much ammo is when you have to carry it - so why not another ammo can?

So, what'd you get for National Ammo Day?

That is all.

Since the election, it's become more like ammo MONTH. Since I can reload almost every centfire caliber I own, I've been concentrating on rimfire. Every time we have to go to Walmart, we clean them out of bulk .22.

600 bullets for reloading arrived Monday. Forgot to tag it for National Ammo day, though.

Mopar nailed it. Since the election, November has been nation ammo month.

Week before last I bought a 550 round brick of Federal 36 grain copper plated .22lr hollowpoint. This is my standard "go to" rimfire ammo. I also bought a box of the CCI Quiet about which Jay blogged recently. As I only own semi-auto guns in .22lr, it will be a while before I buy some.

My next purchase will likely be a spam-can of Mosin Nagant fodder, when funds permit. I'm not in much of a hurry . . . at last count I had about 1,100 rounds on hand.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Already have 300 rounds of 00buck 12Ga so I'll get more of that next payday

As much as I detest national ammo day, and buying commercial ammo... circumstances led me to buy 100rounds of 9mm, 50 rounds of 38special, and stumbled across a box of 40 as well.

Pretty weak, I know...

Got 40 rounds of non-corrosive light ball for the Russkie Ballistic Pike (Moisin Nagant), hoping to pick up a spam can of Russkie milsurp on proper Commie strippers (not the cheap eBay repro crap from the ChiComs), funds and availability permitting.

500 rounds 7.62X51 for the new DPMS LR308 I got for election day. I should have gotten some 12GA, for the MKA1919 that will be my next must have aquisition before they become illegal imports.

Bought components and reloaded 200ea. .357, .45acp, 12ga trap loads, and 100 .308 168gr Sierra Match (over 43gr Varget).
Plus, Wallyworld had lots of ammo in stock.

I loaded up some more test batches of .458 SOCOM for my rifle build in progress. This time, it was 405gr Remington JSP.

Pac-Nor shoudl be finished with my blank soon, at which time it will be shipped off to Wally for some fine craftsmanship.

National Ammo Day? Awww,****! Does it count if I bought a couple boxes of AK fodder at Wally World, and fondled a cheap shotgun?
