Half of Massachusetts lawmakers paid local taxes late
BOSTON — A Team 5 investigation has found almost half of Massachusetts lawmakers serving in the state legislature have been late in paying their car or real estate taxes during the last five years.
NewsCenter 5’s Sean Kelly reported on Thursday that some of the elected officials who make and enforce our laws aren’t leading by example.Yes, Scott Brown's former nemesis Marsha Coakley is on the list (and is the worst offender...), as is state Treasurer Steve Grossman. It's nice to see that the people in charge of enforcing the state's laws and overseeing the state's finances feel no obligation to abide by said laws or contribute their due to the finances. Couple this with the story of the MA State trooper who was parking his RV rent-free on state property - and leeching electricity from the storage building - and you can start to understand the entitlement mindset here in MA.
