Wanna See Something Really Neat?

The other weekend I headed to the range to get some trigger time on the Ruger 10/22 Takedown for yesterday's review. I brought two other T&E guns with me, the Ruger 22/45 Lite and the Kel-Tec SUB2000. I realized something really cool as I was packing up and trying to figure out how to bring all three guns. The Kel-Tec and the 10/22 fit in the 10/22 case:

Neat, isn't it? Two pistol caliber rifles, one small bag that can be tossed over your shoulder and carried like a backpack. Since the Ruger bag has room for half a dozen magazines, you could load up a bunch of 15-round P226 magazines (or 17-round Glock magazines if you have the Glock 17 version of the SUB2000) and have 60 - 75 rounds of 9mm at the ready and 50 rounds of .22LR. If you had a G17/P226 on your belt, you've got a pistol/carbine combo that eat from the same magazines for a SHTF/TEOTWAWKI scenario. All in one bag you can throw over your shoulder...

Especially since the SUB2000 was throwing all 15 rounds of 9mm into a quarter-sized hole at 25 feet...

That is all.

Actually, your 22/45 is chambered in a rifle round not the other way around...

It is .22 Long Rifle after all.

I admit it seems strange to think of such a low-powered round as a "rifle" round, but...

That IS pretty cool. Now, if Kel-Tec would come up with a version of the Sub2000 that would take CZ75 magazines I'd be all set.

You're not helping my budget, you know, by giving me another reason to want a SUB2000.

What Ian sez. {grin}

Can you fold the SUB2000 with an optic attached?

You know, that makes me wonder if the Kel-Tec SU-16 would fit in there when it's folded up. Store the 10/22, the SU-16, and a pistol in there, with loaded magazines for each, and you've got a good bug out gun kit ready to go. The SU-16 for big game and serious defense work, the 10/22 for small game, and the pistol to go on your belt as you walk out the door.

I added a 5.11 6x6 molle pouch to my TD bag & found I can carry even more & it doesn't take away from it. though it sure doesn't sit like it used with the extra bulk. Can carry my spotting scope now & a brick of ammo
