Look, I know my #1 Blogson is pretty convinced that Romney is going to win this thing. I wish I could share his enthusiasm - not that I want Romney to win so much as I want Obama to lose - but I just can't see Romney having the stones to do what needs to be done.
Look at the moderators his team agreed to in the three debates:
1. Jim Lehrer from PBS - not that he has a history of "helping" one side or another.
2. Candy Crowley from CNN - with statements on the record of her views of the Romney/Ryan ticket as a "death wish", is it any surprise that she was Obama's tag-team partner in the last debate?
3. Bob Schieffer from CBS. He's probably the least biased of the group, which is saying quite a bit given his vigorous assertion that media bias is irrelevant.
And, of course, who could overlook that the moderator of the Vice Presidential debate had Obama at her wedding?
Really? Your staff agreed to this lineup of left-leaning partisans? There is not a single even vaguely right-leaning moderator available? You couldn't get John Stossel (tell me THAT wouldn't be a fun debate) or Brit Hume (you want to see lefty heads explode?)? I know, I know, that's asking too much - not to mention that there's not a chance in hell that the Obama campaign would agree to a debate not moderated by a friendly.
Given his track record of going along to get along, I think Romney's going to get creamed next month. Given that we're seeing Voter ID laws getting shot down - while wholesale intimidation of voters is overlooked - I don't think that Romney will be outside the margin of cheat. With the Holder Justice department doing everything in its power to make sure that no one has to show any form of ID to vote - and the media painting anyone who wants ID as some sort of racist bogeyman that wants to stop minorities an elderly from voting - the race is too close for Romney to overcome Chicago-style politics...
I hope I'm wrong - I eagerly await media scrutiny of President Romney - but history says otherwise...
That is all.
