My Mind Works In Odd Ways...

...but I'm guessing y'all know that by now...

This morning I went with Dad G. to Local Farm Equipment store to look at snowblowers. We had an extremely mild winter last year, which was very beneficial, as our current snowthrower has joined the choir invisible. Since we live next door, we share heavy equipment, so Dad wanted me to check out the snowthrowers with him. His health hasn't been the greatest lately, and it's expected that I'll be running any snow removal equipment from here on in.

So, dad's buying, and I'm the one testing it out. All of a sudden, out of the blue it hit me.

We were engaging in a strawman snowblower purchase!

It took a few moments for me to regain my composure after coming up with that...

That is all.

Hey, every thing is cool, as long as you both have a Snow Blower Owners I.D. (SBOID).

But since those things use Gasoline w/o Pollution Controls, plus the Noise Violations that might Disturb the Nesting Habits of Massachusetts Turkeys, don't be surprised if some VolksRepublik Political Hack thinks a SBOID that would be a "Good Idea."

Along with the $100 a year Tax to be used to "Protect the Environment, " that is.

If the machine is a two-stage, does that make it a hi-cap snow thrower governed by th MA 1998 ANTB (assault snow thrower ban)?

You should call it a snowman purchase!

Two questions.

1. Was it matte black?

2. Did it have a bayonet lug?

It actually fixes two bayonets. One on either side of the auger housing.

Did you purchase the required snowblower locks to keep it out of the hand so children?

I wouldn't worry about it, unless you're part of Fast & Furious -- sending illicit snowblowers to the Mexican drug cartel.

(Hmm, make you think of snowmen in a different way, doesn't it?)

Be Careful or the BSRT (Bureau of Snow Removal Technology) will come after you for an Illegal sale.

Does it have a shoulder thing that goes up?

In Ohio, I would just go to a private seller to exploit the "loophole." I assume that has the standard capacity chute.
