Friday Gun Pr0n #287

Today's gun pic is the rifle I've brought to Colorado for some long range shooting:

This is a MG Arms K-Yote, an AR-15 based long distance target and varmint rifle designed for small game hunting. I had the pleasure of talking with the folks at MG Arms at the NRA Convention in St. Louis this past April, and was drooling over their high end guns while Ambulance Driver talked about hunting trips. A few weeks after the convention, I got an e-mail from the gentleman I'd been talking with asking if I'd like to try one of the rifles out.

I'd decided that this year was going to be the year I attended the Blogorado shoot hosted by the FarmFamily, and I remembered from last year's dispatches from SCI-FI that there were opportunities to try one's hand at prairie dogs. After relating this to my contact at MG Arms, the K-Yote in .223 Remington was suggested as the rifle to take. This rifle arrived just last week, just in the nick of time for the festivities.

Now, to try her out at distance!

That is all.

That's absolutely gorgeous.

Clicking the link, I have to wonder what makes it a $3700 AR-15.

I look forward to hearing your opinion, as usual...

Jay,

Wow. Looks like a spec-ops rifle straight from The Sandbox. What kind of glass is on top?

In other news, it looks like I'm joining up at the club in Shirley. FWIW, they have rifle berms at 50, 75, 100 and 200 yards.

Good hunting.
