What Is This I Don't Even...

Elderly Woman’s Missing Handicapped Placard Found, Man Charged With Unlawful Use
CHICAGO (CBS) — It’s been more than two years since a 73-year-old Chicago woman lost her handicapped parking placard.

But police say they found it over the weekend, in a car belonging to a healthy, 35-year-old man.
Now, there's apparently no evidence that the man stole the placard, but that's damning with faint praise indeed. There's also no evidence that he didn't steal it, if we want to play that game. I'm certain that the woman applied for a new placard, but still, the fact that not only didn't he turn it in, he kept it for himself and was using it for over a year earns him the SDJ title.

I feel bad about using my father-in-law's placard even when he's in the car with me. I can't imagine using it without him being present, let alone without his permission. And finding one on the ground and just using it? That's pretty much the textbook definition of douchebag right there. I hope they hit him with the maximum fine possible and then some community service for this...

Gah. Every day I am reminded more and more just how much I hate people sometimes...

That is all.

Don't lose faith, Jay.

How often have you heard about jerks like this, callously pretending to be disabled? Not all THAT often, I'd guess. Now, how often have you seen someone go out of their way to help a disabled person (holding the door open, stopping to help, etc.)?

Humanity ain't so bad... and, I firmly believe, the good apples still vastly outnumber the bad.
