Shut Up, Whiner.

Good lord. The current generation is going to be eaten alive in the real world.

Curry Student’s Dorm Room ‘Smells Like Urine & Feces’
MILTON (CBS) – A junior at Curry College in Milton was looking forward to the new school year, until he saw his dorm room.

“It smells like urine and feces,” says Peter Maxwell of Michigan. “And we have three fans going, but this room is so humid it’s almost dripping. It’s like being in a prison.”
You know what it smells like? A freakin' college dorm room! Wah! Wah! My concrete-walled room gets hot in the end of summer! You can't open the windows much because college students are known to throw things out of them. Calling in the Board of Health? Seriously? Over a dorm room? It's good to know there's nothing more important going on in Milton.

When you think about it, that's the scary part. What's the response to a situation you don't like? Call the government! No, we can't take care of things on our own, we need the omnipresent nanny state to step in and help us. Rather than find an alternate living arrangement - and I've never heard of a college that wouldn't let you change dorms if you asked - he calls in the .gov. This is going to be the default action for a lot of people in this day and age.

Calling the Board of Health over a dorm room - that's gotta be some kind of nanny state record right there...

That is all.

Mine smelled of stale beer and spilled bong water. Or so I was told.

I would be pissed too if I was paying $40,000 a year and the accommodations I got smelled like a sewer.

My response would be "Then clean your damn room!"

This kid is doing it wrong.

Stale beer, vomit, lefover food, dirty laundry and pot smoke should easily cover over the urine and feces smells.

HAh... that's my home town... and I've been in those dorms; that smell wouldn't be uncommon.

Oh and should mention, a lot of the dorm rooms are windowless bare cinderblock 8x12s with tile floors and exposed plumbing.

They're really like jail cells.

You're talking about a building with poor AC and dehumidification, on bare concrete, 5 miles from the ocean... You get condensation running down the walls, dripping from the air vents etc...

A few years ago, they had a major mold issue, and they've had legionaires issues before.

It's called a mop, sponges, and cleaner. Though this day in age you can get a Swiffer Wet Jet and Febreeze. Either works. That's what I did to my dorm room. Yeesh, people these days.

I think the best part is that the Health Dept basically said "thats nice, there's nothing wrong with it" and went on their way.
