More Hypocrisy from "Walking Eagle"

Miner: Elizabeth Warren’s biz ‘hypocritical’
Democrat Elizabeth Warren, who has made fighting for workers a focus of her Senate campaign, was a hired legal gun for a steel conglomerate trying to dodge paying health and pension benefits to thousands of retired coal miners, records show.

Warren represented LTV Steel in 1995, when she was a Harvard Law professor, aiding the bankrupt company’s bid to overturn a court ruling forcing it to pay its former employees and dependents $140 million in retirement benefits.
If this hadn't come hot on the heels of the news that Warren was working on behalf of Travelers Insurance against asbestos workers, we might be able to buy that this was just one case. Of course, that's assuming that she's even licensed to practice law...She seems to be the gift that just keeps on giving, with one skeleton after another emerging from her closet.

If I seem like I'm being overly biased against Elizabeth Warren, it's for good reason. I'm not pleased with Scott Brown - he's a RINO in the classic Mitt Romney mold - yet Warren and her amateur hour campaign are forcing me to vote for him. She went extremely negative really early - tying Brown to Todd Akin, for starters - because that's all she has. She's playing the class warfare card like there's no tomorrow - all the while representing large corporations against blue collar workers.

I may not like RINOs, but I dislike raging hypocrites even more.

That is all.

Sorry, but this story gets a yawn for me. When you're an attorney you represent your client's interests. Period. If your personal beliefs are going to interfere with that, you need to be in another line of work.

Dave,

Absolutely. But you don't get to pose as a champion of the little guy after representing huge insurance companies (against the little guy) and giant steel conglomerates (against the little guy).

That's the hit you take when you decide to take those high paying lawyer-type gigs.

We know exactly how the media treats Republicans who work for large corporations - one look no further than ZOMG HALLIBURTON with Dick Cheney or the allegations that Bush was allowing gas prices to rise to enrich his oil buddies.

It's fascinating that Walking Eagle gets a complete pass...

That's the part that bothers me the most about campaigns today. It's all fiction - even the news coverage.

So this is, what, the 3rd or 4th time Warren has lied about her Past? And all those lies helped the "Mother of Consumer Protection" advance her Monetarily?

Sounds like she's a Shoe-in to be the next Senator from Massachusetts to me!

Elizabeth Warren announced today she was related to the Kennedys today.

"My great grandfather traded whiskey with Joe Kennedy. One night when there was a storm, Old Joe stayed at the house till the weather cleared.

Nine months later my grandmother was born.. So I guess you can say I'm 1/8 Kennedy!"

OK not really

Practicing law in Massachusetts without being a member of the Massachusetts Bar is prohibited.
You do not need to be a member of the Massachusetts Bar to teach law in Massachusetts.
Being licensed to practice law in Texas and New Jersey does not automatically qualify you to practice law in Massachusetts. Aside from taking the Massachusetts Bar Exam, there is also a process where she could have applied for admission to the Massachusetts Bar without the Exam as she had five years experience and eligible for a waiver of the Exam if she applied. It does not appear that Warren did this. There are also several narrowly defined exemptions, but some claim that they are written overly broad.
As a professor of law teaching in Massachusetts, Warren should know all this. As it is often said, ignorance of the law is no excuse.
