Dear Photobucket...

When I buy something over the internet, I expect to receive said item. Similarly, when I pay for a service, I expect to receive said service.

Having the pictures that I PAY to have hosted on your website show up as a white box with a red "X" in the corner isn't receiving a service. It's receiving nothing (unless you count raised blood pressure) in exhange for the money I've paid you. When I pay for a service and don't receive said service, I stop paying. Plain and simple.

It was bad enough that from time to time the download times could be measured with a sundial. But when I upload pictures - pictures that are integral to my fundraising efforts - and the next day see a big blank spot, well... Suffice to say, this is not the service I paid for. Especially when I go to log into my account and see an error message, so I can't access my account at all.

So, what other photo hosting sites do folks use to host pictures?

That is all.

Picasa's a Google service, and it does a fair enough job for the low, low price of free. If all you're doing is hosting pics to share on your (Google) blog, then it may be what you're looking for.

Crap. Scratch that. The images service has been integrated into Google+. Picasa, apperently, is now a stand-alone app and I have no experience with it.

Flickr Pro. I think it's $25/yr, and worth every penny.

Ditto on Picasa. Zero problems, other than the relatively small amount of free storage space you get, but then again, it's free so I really can't complain.

Ditto Ditto on Picasa/Google + images. The storage space and image size are both limited, but if google is down no-one else is probably up either. Also if you use a smartphone google + can be set to automatically upload and archive every picture you take with it (with some limitations such as max resolution).

Or, you can do like a certain Blog That Shall Not Be Named and just steal them from Alan.

I would be happy to generate you up an FTP account, and I have unlimited bandwidth, so that would not be a problem either.

Such an offer is predicated on your ability to navigate an FTP account, however, and apparently that is not always a given... Also, I offer... oh, no services at all ;).

I'm just using Picasa. None of that Google+

try picasaweb.google.com

I've used Flickr since they started, and love 'em. For stuff that I want to share, though, I FTP up to my personal website.

I'm a Flickr Pro user and have been for a couple of years now. Actually, my annual renewal just rolled around late last month and I re-upped for 2 years (I think it was about $44).

I've been very happy with it and have had very few problems. My one and only complaint is that I would love to be able to upload NEF and RAW camera images, for backup purposes.

I would also suggest imgur.com. Free and easy, and FAST.

Check out Smugmug. It is tailored to pro photographers, but the features and prices are awesome. I've never had issues with them over the two years I've been with them.
