Teenage robbery suspect shot and killed outside grocery store
DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -Fox 2 is following breaking news Saturday night. A 17-year-old is dead. Police say he was shot and killed after trying to rob a man in a grocery store parking lot.
We're told a 50 year old man was sitting in his car in the busy parking lot of the Grand Land shopping center on Grand River. He says a group of teens walked up and tried to rob him. He tells police they flashed a gun, so he pulled his own weapon and fired at the teens. A 17-year-old was shot and killed.
Now, I wasn't there, but I wonder if Sparky pulled the ol' "hike up the shirt to show a gun tucked in the waistband" routine. If so, he got more than he bargained for when his intended victim - realizing that he was in mortal fear for his life - pulled his own gun and shot first, ending the young criminal's career permanently.
Again, to flagellate a deceased equine, the powers-that-be at the Brady Campaign, VPC, etc. would rather this man have been robbed - or worse - by a gang of kids a third his age. Maybe they would have just taken his wallet - or maybe they'd decide to not leave a witness. I wouldn't want to gamble my life on their generosity.
And, of course, this counts in their twisted world as a "child killed by gunfire"...
