State Department: 'Hold down the fort,' other common phrases could be offensive
and while I wanted to comment on it (the State Department has a "Chief Diversity Officer"??? Seriously???), before I got a chance, I saw this story:
Labor Dept. Waives 60-Day Notice To Help Obama Win
Politics: An administration that doesn't want layoff notices required by law going out days before the November election is telling defense contractors they don't have to send them for the cuts required by sequestration.ARE. YOU. FUCKING. KIDDING. ME??????
As the heads of major defense contractors Lockheed Martin, EADS North America, Pratt & Whitney and Williams-Pyro testified recently before the House Armed Services Committee, they are bound by law to give employees 60 days' notice if their jobs are going to be terminated as a result of sequestration cuts scheduled for Jan. 2.
Why is this news buried in the IBD? You DAMN well know that if George Bush had done something like this, every newspaper in the country would have been calling for his impeachment by noon the next day. I'd like to say I'm surprised by this, but nothing surprises me about this administration any more. Todd Akin makes a ridiculous statement and it's front page news for weeks (and deservedly so); President Obama directs the Department of Labor to GO CONTRARY TO FEDERAL LAW and delay pink slip notifications and the sound of crickets is deafening?
President Obama, you have done the heretofore impossible: You have made me wish for Mitt Romney to win in November.
That is all.
