House holds Holder in contempt
Washington (CNN) -- The House of Representatives voted Thursday to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in criminal contempt for refusing to turn over documents tied to the botched Fast and Furious gun-running sting -- a discredited operation that has become a sharp point of contention between Democrats and Republicans in Washington.
The 255-67 vote marked the first time in American history that the head of the Justice Department has been held in contempt by Congress. Almost every House Republican backed the measure, along with 17 Democrats.17 Democrats voted to hold US Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt. How's that partisan witchhunt now? What's especially funny is that the burden of prosecuting Holder falls to the AG for DC - who reports to Holder. Yeah, I'm guessing this investigation is going to go far... Naturally, this being CNN, they can't resist blaming the NRA for this vote - as though it were the NRA's fault that Holder deliberately stonewalled this investigation.
It will be interesting to see what happens now - smart money's on a whole lot of nothing...
That is all.
